The Wood County Board of Education officially welcomed its newly elected and returning members during the Statutory Board Meeting held on Monday, July 6, 2026.
Returning board member Debbie Hendershot was re-elected to continue serving on the Board of Education. Joining the board as newly elected members are Simon Hargus and Haley Meredith. All three members were officially sworn into office by Judge Jason Wharton prior to the start of the meeting.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, the newly constituted board conducted its annual organizational meeting and elected its leadership for the coming year. Judy Johnson was selected by fellow board members to serve as Board President, while Ron Tice was elected to serve as Vice President.
The Statutory Board Meeting marked the first official meeting of the newly seated board as members began their work representing the students, staff, families, and communities of Wood County Schools.
