PRESS RELEASE
PARKERSBURG, WV - Wood County Schools personnel responded to an accident involving a school bus and a car at the intersection of 13th Street and Plum Street in Parkersburg.
The school bus, Bus No. 160, was carrying seven students at the time of the accident. All seven students were examined by a school nurse, and no student injuries were reported.
The Wood County Schools Director of Safety and Security was the first district personnel to arrive at the scene and assisted with managing the scene and ensuring the safety and well-being of the students.
Personnel from the Wood County Schools Central Office, located near the intersection, also responded to assist. The district’s superintendent remained with the students until the school nurse and first responders arrived.
All parents and guardians of the students were notified following the accident.
The safety and well-being of our students remains Wood County Schools’ highest priority. The district appreciates the prompt response of school personnel, the school nurse, and first responders who assisted at the scene.
