Transportation Department: YOU ROCK!
Every school day, 87 buses travel throughout our community carrying Wood County Schools students safely to and from school. Behind every one of those buses is a team of dedicated professionals—bus drivers, mechanics, and transportation coordinators—whose hard work, teamwork, and commitment make it all possible.
Today, we want to say to our entire Transportation Department:

Special recognition goes to Scott McWilliams, Melinda Clark, Pam Reynolds, Bill Fleak, and Dave Pahl for going above and beyond for our students, families and WCS team!
Our bus drivers are the familiar faces who greet students each morning and afternoon. They navigate busy roads, changing weather, traffic, and unexpected challenges while keeping student safety at the heart of everything they do.
Our mechanics work behind the scenes to make sure our buses are safe, reliable, and ready to roll. Their expertise, attention to detail, and willingness to respond when something goes wrong are essential to keeping our transportation system moving.
Our transportation coordinators keep the many moving pieces working together. From routing and scheduling to responding to daily changes and challenges, they provide the communication and coordination that connects drivers, mechanics, schools, students, and families.
Individually, each role is important. Together, they are extraordinary.
The work of our Transportation Department isn't always easy or visible, but it is absolutely essential. Every day, this team demonstrates what it means to go the extra mile, support one another, solve problems, show kindness, and put students first.
That is exactly what the YOU ROCK Recognition Program is all about: recognizing the people whose everyday actions make a difference.
