Wood BOE meets Tuesday

PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Board of Education will meet Tuesday (Jan. 12) in regular session.

The regular meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the Jefferson Elementary Center auditorium at 1103 Plum Street in Parkersburg and will be broadcast online via Zoom. 

The meeting is open to the public, though seating will be limited to maintain social distance.

Among the items for Tuesday’s meeting, the school board will receive a presentation on a partnership with Pickering Energy Solutions, as well as discuss and vote on the possible disposition of the former Worthington Elementary School property and extension of some pandemic leave benefits for employees. 

The board will receive a report from Superintendent Will Hosaflook concerning the district’s vaccination efforts and distribution of new MacBooks for teachers. 

Prior to the regular meeting, the board will hold an employee termination hearing at the Wood County Schools Central Office beginning at 4:30 p.m. The hearing will not be shared online and the employee has the right to a closed hearing if requested.
