Wood BOE meets Tuesday


PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Board of Education will meet Tuesday (Dec. 7, 2021) in regular session.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Wood County Schools Central Office at the corner of 13th and Plum streets in Parkersburg. The meeting is open to the public and will be broadcast online via Zoom.

Prior to the beginning of the regular meeting, the board will hold a special session beginning at 5 p.m. to receive Local School Improvement Council reports from Franklin and Jefferson elementary centers. The annual reports are required under state code. The special session is open to the public.

During the board’s regular meeting, officials will recognize the Williamstown High School 2021 Volleyball State Champions. The board also will recognize Parkersburg High School teacher James Bunner as the 2021 Outstanding Earth Science Teacher and Hamilton Middle School teacher Hannah Eller as the 2021 Middle School Art Educator of the Year. 

In addition to personnel and financial matters, the board is expected to vote on signing over the deed to the old Williamstown Elementary School to the City of Williamstown.
