Superintendent application window extended

Wood BOE establishes timeline for search process

PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Board of Education has extended the application period for a new Wood County Schools superintendent and established a timeline of meetings for the month of March.

The board met in special session Friday to extend the application period from March 11 to March 18.

A public forum will be held at 6 p.m. March 22 at Jefferson Elementary Center allowing community members to address the board and voice the qualities they would like to see in a new superintendent. The school board will then meet in executive session to determine which candidates will move on to interview with the board.

Those interviews will be conducted by the board March 25. At the end of those interviews, the board will announce its top 3 candidates in a public press release.

A second public forum will be held at 6 p.m. March 28 at the Wood County Technical Center for members of the public to meet the top candidates.
