Wood BOE meets Monday, Tuesday

Superintendent candidates forum to be held at Wood County Technical Center


The Wood County Board of Education will hold two meetings next week, with a public forum Monday and a regular meeting Tuesday.

The public forum will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, March 28, at the Wood County Technical Center, 1515 Blizzard Drive in Parkersburg. 

Three finalists for the position of Wood County Schools superintendent will have the chance to address the public and answer questions from community members. The forum is open to the public and will be streamed online. 

The board will meet in regular session at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, at Jefferson Elementary Center, 1103 Plum St. in Parkersburg. The meeting is open to the public and will be streamed online via Zoom.

The board will announce and vote on its choice for superintendent.

In addition to the vote, the school board will hold recognitions for all-state choir students, the Parkersburg South High School swim team as state champs, and the Marietta Times Regional Spelling Bee winner.

The board also will receive a presentation on online payments and vote on personnel and financial items.
