Good morning,
Officials with Wood County Schools have been in communication with the National Weather Service in Charleston and other agencies that monitor weather and road conditions. At this time, officials believe the southern Wood County area may begin seeing snow flurries and light snow around 2 p.m. today, but heavy snow is not expected to begin until 5 p.m.
We do not believe early dismissal is needed, so the school day will continue as normal. Our transportation department is preparing for winter weather and we urge drivers to take extra time and precautions during dismissal times as weather conditions may change.
Wood County Schools is dedicated to the safety and health of our students and employees. We will monitor road conditions throughout the day and evening and will evaluate road safety in the morning to determine if any action is needed for school Friday.
Have a great day. Stay warm and stay safe.

IMPORTANT message to all parents and guardians:
Please do not send your student to school with symptoms of illness. Contact your school nurse to discuss even mild symptoms BEFORE sending to school.
If you take your child for Covid-19 testing, please keep them home until ALL (both rapid and PCR) test results have been received and are negative.
We must all work together to keep our schools healthy places to learn! Thank you!
