Who needs to do this?

Submit a request only if you want to request to transfer your child to a different school. If your child is already at their home school and you want them to stay there, no further action is required.

Enrolling for PreK?

Parents enrolling their child in Wood County Schools' PreK don't have to request a transfer. PreK students can enroll in any Wood County Schools' PreK. To enroll your child starting March 4, 2024, visit a school office and complete an application. Bring a state-certified birth certificate, immunization records, proof of dental visit (if available), and a well-child exam from the child's doctor.

Enrolling for Kindergarten?

Parents seeking to transfer their kindergartners to a school other than their home school (also known as the school attendance zone) should click the 'elementary' button under 'request a transfer.' Even if you request a transfer, it's crucial to enroll your child in person at the home school office starting on Tuesday, February 20th. For those with children already in PreK, enrollment is still required at the home school through a completed kindergarten application. Parents of students not in a Wood County Schools’ PreK program must submit a kindergarten application in person at the home school as well. Bring necessary documents, including a state-certified birth certificate, immunization records, proof of dental visit (if available), a well-child exam from the child’s doctor, and three proofs of residency (e.g., state-issued ID, driver’s license, any utility bill, statement from a landlord, voter registration card, medical card, or bank statement).

Has my request been submitted?

You will receive the message “Your response has been sent successfully” along with a checkmark once you press the submit button upon completion of the transfer request form.
